The sun, moon and stars will inhabit Troy University's Davis Theatre as the College of Communication and Fine Arts ushers in the Christmas season in a captivating, inspiring setting of evergreens, wintry branches and illuminations. Troy University is proud to present a holiday extravaganza of music, dance and theatre featuring the talent of more than 300 students and 20 faculty members from Troy University's John M. Long School of Music and the Department of Theatre and Dance.
The show will feature both the sacred and secular, as well as traditional and contemporary music. Highlights of the performance include James Weldon Johnson's The Creation told in music, dance and theatre, solos from music faculty members Dr. Meg Jackson and Dr. Michael Hix, a special segment entitled, “I'll be Home for Christmas,” honoring servicemen and women both past and present, and a Grand Illumination. Featured groups for this performance from the John M. Long School of Music and the Department of Theatre and Dance include the following: Collegiate Singers and Concert Choir, Symphony Band, Gospel Choir, Theatre Ensemble, Musical Theatre Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble and the Repertory Dance Ensemble. |
